CYP 2D6 *3*4 and 5*/5*
The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism. Cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) is primarily localized in the liver and is known to metabolize 20% of commonly prescribed drugs, in particular, cardiovascular and psychotropic agents (debrisoquine, sparteine, propafenone etc.).
This LightMix® kit replaces the the single target kits 40-0180 and 40-0181 and combines the analysis of the deletion 2637delA for allele *3 and transition 1934G-A for allele *4 in one single reaction. These two mutations represent 90% of all inactivating alles in causcasians. A control reaction allows to identify gene deletions (*5/*5) also.
The kit can be used with Roche LightCycler® 1.x / 2.0 and 480 II / Z480 instruments.
