Mycoplasma pneumoniae
Mycoplasma pneumoniae has one of the smallest known non genomes and is responsible for both tracheobronchitis and primary atypical pneumonia with clinical symptoms as nonproductive cough sore throat, low-grade fever or middle-ear involvement.
A 342 bp fragment of the P1 Gene (cytadhesin protein) of Mycoplasma pneumoniae is amplified with specific primers and detected with probes labeled with LC Red 640.
An additional PCR product of 247 bp is formed from the internal positive control DNA.
The kit can be used with LightCycler® 1.x / 2.0 / 480 II Instruments.
