NAT-2: this kit has been discontinued 2011
This NAT-2 gene encodes an enzyme that functions to both activate and deactivate arylamine and hydrazine drugs and carcinogens. Polymorphisms in this gene are responsible for the N-acetylation polymorphism in which human populations segregate into rapid, intermediate, and slow acetylator phenotypes. Polymorphisms in this gene are also associated with higher incidences of cancer and drug toxicity.
The LightMix® Kit NAT-2 has been discontinued 2011.
Alternatively we offer LightSNiP assays for seven different common NAT-2 polymorphisms :
NAT-2 [G191A] rs1801279
NAT-2 [C282T] rs1041983
NAT-2 [T341C] rs1801280
NAT-2 [C481T] rs1799929 contained in the LightMix® kit
NAT-2 [G590A] rs1799930 contained in the LightMix® kit
NAT-2 [G857A] rs1799931 contained in the LightMix® kit
NAT-2 [A803G] rs1208
LightSNiP assays can be run on LightCycler® 1.x / 2.0 and 480 Instruments and on most other Real-Time PCR instruments with a HRM analysis module (for example Qiagen RotorGene or Illumina ECCO instruments).
