U. urealyticum
This LightMix® Kit detects Ureaplasma urealyticum and U. parvum (U. urealyticum biotype 1).
U. urealyticum is a cell wall free bacterium from the family of Mycoplasmataceae which causes several infections in the abdomen area and may lead to infertility, intricacies during pregnancy or in newborn. U. urealyticum is resistant against antibiotics which target the cell wall.
A 187 bp fragment of 16S rRNA of the Ureaplasma urealyticum genome is
amplified with specific primers. U. urealyticum DNA is analyzed with
probes labeled with LightCycler® Red 640 (detected in
channel 640). This kit is tested with the Roche Diagnostics LightCycler®
FastStart DNA Master Hybridization Probe reaction mix in the LightCycler®
1.x / 2.0 Instruments.
