Capillary based Real-Time PCR instruments are established on the market for over 10 years.
They are distinguished for their unbeatable rapidity/speed – PCR runs in less than an hour (standard volume 20 µl, 45 cycles).
The melting curve analysis allows the identification of the product and the differentiation of mutations – e.g. typing of viruses, analysis of human mutations or polymorphisms.
The first generation of LightCycler^® instruments supports single TaqMan^® assays (channel F1), single SimpleProbe^® oligomer (F1) or duplex Hybridization Probes assays(F2 und F3).
